There are many eyelash and eyebrow growth serums on the market, and some actually work. But I have yet to find a lash and brow product that is affordable and effective and doesn’t endlessly irritate my eyes.
Enter The Ordinary Peptide Lash and Brow Serum.
When I saw this lash and brow serum launch from The Ordinary, I immediately ordered to see if it could outperform other serums that cost 4x as much, especially since I’ve seen great results from their other hair growth product: The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density.
I am about 6 weeks into using The Ordinary lash and brow serum, and I must admit, the results have surprised me!
In this The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum review post, I’ll review what this lash and brow serum does, how to use it, my results after 6 weeks, and the pros and cons that come along with the product.

What is The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum?
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum is a lightweight liquid formulated to create fuller, thicker eyebrows and eyelashes.
A best-selling The Ordinary product, this serum uses 11 active ingredients, such as peptide complexes and natural flower and plant extracts, to improve the look of brow and lash density in as little as 4 weeks.
Like other The Ordinary products, this eyebrow and eyelash growth serum is all about the technologies. Here is a summary of the active ingredients in each peptide complex in the serum:
- SymPeptide XLash Complex: Uses myristoyl pentapeptide-17 to improve the look of eyelash thickness and length.
- Anargy Complex: Uses oligopeptide-2 and glycoproteins to help stimulate hair growth.
- Widelash Complex: Uses biotinoyl tripeptide-1 and panthenol to help eyelashes look longer, fuller, and stronger by moisturizing and fortifying them.
- Redensyl Complex: Use Larix europaea wood extract, Camellia sinensis leaf extract, and zinc chloride for hair growth. It is supposed to provide better results than a hair transplant surgical procedure in 84 days.
- Capixyl Complex: Uses acetyl tetrapeptide-3 and Trifolium pratense flower extract to stop hair loss, stimulate hair growth, and reduce scalp inflammation.
- High-Solubility Caffeine: Topical caffeine is an active ingredient that has been shown to be effective at preventing hair loss.
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum Review
When I saw that The Ordinary was coming out with a brow serum, I was thrilled because not only did I expect it to be reasonably priced like other The Ordinary products, but I also had high hopes for good results because, in my experience, The Ordinary products work.
Let me preface this by saying that I’ve been using this multi-peptide serum as directed, TWICE a day, every day. My natural lashes are very light and short, so I was hoping to at least see some lengthening.
I’ve been using the serum for about 6 weeks and wanted to wait to write this review until now to give it a chance to work.
So far, I’ve dedicated the serum strictly to my eyelashes since they really need help. I figured if I start seeing results with my lashes, I’ll also start using it on my brows.
The serum comes in a white tube with a black synthetic brush wand and bristles. The bristles deposit a thin clear liquid onto your upper lash line and brows. The formula is lightweight and dries quickly.
The serum does not irritate my skin, which is a huge plus. I have not experienced any styes (gland infections) on my eyelids either, which can’t be said for other lash growth products.
Please keep in mind that this is my experience, and since everyone’s eyelids and lashes are different, I can’t say how your lashes and brows will respond to the serum.
I have, a few times, been a little overzealous with the wand and allowed the brow and eyelash serum to seep into the corner of my eye.
The product stung a little, but the irritation went away quickly. Be sure to apply it to your lash line and avoid your water line.
I’ve been using the brow and lash growth serum for almost six weeks now, and I am definitely seeing growth and improved density in my eyelashes. I am seeing thicker and fuller lashes.
Since my lashes are quite light, I had a hard time getting before and after photos, but I have seen a noticeable improvement in growth.
The Bottom Line: This is the most affordable lash serum I’ve ever tried, especially considering the long list of peptide technologies in the serum.
And…it’s working for me. Although everyone may experience different results, I am really thrilled with the results so far and will continue using it to see if my lashes continue to lengthen and have new growth.
I will be ordering a second bottle and will start on my eyebrows next.
Pros
- Quicker results than expected
- Lightweight, non-sticky formula
- Non-irritating and did not cause a stye
- Low Price
Cons
- Must use 2X a day consistently
- Should wait a few minutes before applying makeup
- It may sting if you get it in your eyes
- Results are not as fast as GrandeLash
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum vs GrandeLash-MD Lash Enhancing Serum
Months ago, I saw how others were getting great results from GrandeLash-MD Lash Enhancing Serum by Grande Cosmetics, so I purchased the pricey full-size 6-month supply.
I should have purchased the 6-week trial size because, unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me.
I used it once a day as directed, and it really irritated my eyes and caused a stye after a week or so, so I didn’t continue with it, even though I was starting to see some lengthening of my lashes.
This was my experience; others have had fantastic results from this serum, so please keep this in mind.
GrandeLash uses L-proline, an amino acid, and a botanical extract blend from ginseng root, chamomile flowers, and bearberry leaves to increase lash growth and strengthen the lash follicle.
Results can be seen in as little as 4 to 6 weeks, with full results in 3 months.
The Ordinary’s Lash and Brow Serum uses different active ingredients: a blend of several peptide complexes and natural extracts from green tea that work together to increase lash length, density, and thickness.
The Ordinary is 5 ml, while the 6-month supply of GrandeLash is 4 ml. GrandeLash also offers a 3-month supply (2 ml) and the previously mentioned 6-week starter supply (1 ml).
Keep in mind that GrandeLash is a once-a-day product designed for your lashes only (they offer a separate brow serum).
The full-size 4 ml tube is supposed to last for six months. Since The Ordinary is a twice-a-day product for lashes and brows, the 5 ml tube won’t last as long as GrandeLash but should last 2 or 3 months.
All sizes of GrandLash are more expensive than The Ordinary. The 3-month GrandeLash tube (2 ml) is over 4x the price of The Ordinary.
How To Use The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum
To use, start with clean, dry skin. Using the applicator brush, apply The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum in a thin layer along your upper lash line and on your eyebrows both in the morning and evening. (I apply as the last step in my AM and PM skincare routines.)
It’s ophthalmologist tested and can be used with mascara. Wait about 5 minutes before applying any other makeup or products to these areas.
As with all new skincare products, The Ordinary suggests patch testing before using it for the first time to avoid an unwanted adverse reaction. Only use on unbroken skin.
If you are looking for an affordable hair growth serum for your scalp, be sure to check out The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density, as I have seen new hair growth around my hairline after consistent use. Final Thoughts: The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum Review
Six weeks in, and so far, so good! Since I already see longer lashes after 6 weeks, I can’t wait to see my results after 3 months.
I think it is important to note that results will not come overnight. It may be difficult to have patience when you are eagerly waiting to see longer, fuller lashes and brows, but give it time!
Consistent use will provide you with the best results.
