Coca-Cola and eight bottling partners from around the world formed a $137.7 million venture capital fund that will focus on sustainability investments, the beverage groups said. Each of the nine entities, including Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, contributed about $15 million to the initiative.
We are committed to achieving net zero emissions across our entire value chain by 2040. Coca-Cola HBC has joined with The Coca-Cola Company and seven other leading bottling partners from around the world to announce a first-of-its-kind, sustainability-focused venture capital fund of $137.7 million.
Global Ventures includes Costa coffee, Monster beverages, innocent juices and smoothies, and dogadan tea.

And Coca-Cola's dividend is a compelling reason to buy and hold shares. The company has increased its dividend annually for an impressive 61 consecutive years, and possesses a solid yield of 3% at the time of this writing.

Coca-Cola has been part of Buffett's company, Berkshire Hathaway, since 1988. The company also pays a generous dividend, and the master investor's annual dividend income from just this one holding alone is over $700m.
In March 1991, two of the largest and most successful multinational companies in the food and beverage industry, The Coca-Cola Company and Nestlé, joined forces to create Coca-Cola Nestlé Refreshments Company (CCNR). The joint venture was expected to be among the most successful of its time.
Coca-Cola operates in a low-growth industry. It's not a high-flying tech enterprise attacking a massive and expanding market opportunity. This is undoubtedly one of the world's most iconic brands. But if you are looking for market-beating growth, it's too late to buy the stock.
Should I invest in co*ke or Pepsi?
Pepsi is the cheaper stock, but investors might still prefer paying the premium for co*ke over its less expensive rival. Sure, you can own Pepsi for 2.5 times sales, or less than half of co*ke's price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 5.6. You'll get roughly the same 3% dividend yield in either case.
Symbol | Holdings | |
---|---|---|
Citigroup Inc | C | 55,244,797 |
Coca-Cola Co | KO | 400,000,000 |
Davita Inc | DVA | 36,095,570 |
Diageo plc | DEO | 227,750 |
With its 3-star rating, we believe co*ke's stock is fairly valued compared with our long-term fair value estimate, which we maintain at $60 per share. Our fair value estimate implies a 22 times multiple against our adjusted 2024 earnings estimate and a 2023 enterprise value/adjusted EBITDA multiple of 19 times.
Both companies remain solid in their financial performance, but Coca-Cola is leading in profitability margins and liquidity, while PepsiCo has had faster near-term growth.
co*ke is projecting organic sales growth of between 6% and 7% (compared to Pepsi's 4%) for 2024. The company is also expecting earnings gains to outpace revenue growth, likely keeping co*ke's profit margin close to its current impressive rate of nearly 30% of sales.
