The Role: The Software Category Manager is responsible for the company’s service provider licensing (SPLA) processes for both internal and resold IT software licensing products as well as OSS tools. The right candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to act quickly, be detail oriented, and build strong relationships with all suppliers and stakeholders to ensure accurate procurement, service delivery, maintenance, and reporting of software licensing products.
What You’ll Do:
- Procure software products from a variety of suppliers (Microsoft, VMware, Zerto, Veeam, Cisco, etc.) to negotiate best pricing terms, monitor price changes, and maintain pricing histories.
- Follow and provide input on company processes and policies around procurement and audit/reporting.
- Conducts QBRs for strategic vendors w/Operations & Business Units
- Selects vendors and get quotes, to validate requirements, and potentially conduct RFPs based on size.
- Negotiates contracts & pricing, submits orders to vendors.
- Tracks cost savings based on Business Unit renewal decisions and future commitments.
- Conduct monthly meetings with FP&A to address variances and future drivers.
- Understand technical differences between software products applications and services and present to decision makers.
- Track when contracts & licenses expire and plan renewal negotiations far enough in advance to guarantee the best leverage in negotiating for the company.
- Gather, review and report monthly usage and licensing data to 11:11’s various technology partners.
- Resolve product, usage & licensing issues with suppliers and manage any disputes.
- Follow and provide input on company processes and policies around usage & license management and reporting.
- Review supplier invoices to ensure they are accurate.
- Build and monitor ongoing supplier spending trend analyses to identify areas of savings and improvement for the company.
- Improve the international logistics capability.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key internal teams to improve clarity of specifications and product delivery.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a manner that is consistent with 11:11’s Code of Business Ethics and Company Values.
- Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle company data and information per Company data handling agreements, work procedures and policies.
- Review and follow company policies and guidelines, data privacy practices, including annual compliance training certification and policy acknowledgements.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Who You Are & What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or University degree in related field of study or an equivalent related 3 years of work experience required.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Service Provider Licensing models preferred.
- Technical acumen/depth related to the software category.
- Demonstrative experience in managing licensing agreements or architecting or deploying complex software environments.
- Prior experience in managing and reporting SPLA usage.
- Prior experience with a Managed Services Provider supporting Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, and/or Cisco deployments.
- Understand technical differences between usage & licensing types (particularly Microsoft SPLA & CSP and VMware VCPP) and how each are billed and managed.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data, then reporting on data to decision makers
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with multiple stakeholders and vendors to achieve objectives.
- Draws upon strong analytical ability to build clear solutions.

- Delivers quality results while embracing assumed responsibility.
- Meets internal or external customer requirements with clarity and speed.

- Must be legally eligible to work in USA without visa sponsorship.
